Capabilities Deck Template

The capabilities deck is the one that gets forwarded before anyone's met you, so it has to do the introduction without you. This version keeps it to eight slides: who you are in three numbers, what you do in four moves, who it's for, one piece of work, one quote, how an engagement runs, and the ask. Brand-forward, because here the brand is the product.

Northstar Software helps operations-heavy teams replace manual work with workflows that run themselves. We're the team behind the platform, in the room from kickoff through renewal.

02

What we do

Automate the routine

Approvals, reporting, and handoffs that run without a spreadsheet.

Connect the stack

Your CRM, ERP, and the tools your teams already use, in sync.

Make results visible

Live dashboards built around the questions leadership asks.

Stay until it sticks

Onboarding, training, and a named partner through year one.

03

Who it's for

Logistics & distribution

Multi-site operations where the same report gets built three times.

Field services

Dispatch, compliance, and invoicing that currently live in five tools.

Manufacturing

Plants that want one view of throughput without a BI project.

Challenge

Four regional sites, four versions of the Monday report, and a leadership team deciding on three-week-old numbers.

What we did

Connected their TMS and ERP, automated the weekly report, and rolled out live dashboards site by site over eight weeks.

To all sites live

The first tool the whole operations team actually wanted to use. We stopped building the Monday report by hand within a month.

A live render of this template with a sample deal — not a mockup. Your version uses your brand, pricing, and proof.

Who this template is for

  • First touches, intros, and referrals where the deck travels ahead of you
  • Agencies, consultancies, and vendors who get asked 'can you send us something?'
  • Replacing the 40-slide company overview nobody finishes
Where the AI comes in

Deck'd tailors even the credentials deck: the 'who it's for' slide leads with the prospect's segment, the case study is the closest match from your library, and the ask references what you know about their situation from the CRM.

What's inside

The slides, and the job each one does

01

Cover

Glow gradient with a soft blob wash; your name as the eyebrow, prepared for them.

02

Who we are

Three numbers that establish you (founded, customers, retention), then two sentences.

03

What we do

Four capabilities as a grid. Outcomes, not features.

04

Who it's for

Three segments in three columns, each with the problem you solve for them.

05

Selected work & what customers say

One case study on a brand band, then one quote on an accent wash.

06

How engagements run

A four-phase strip from discovery to partnership, so the buyer can picture working with you.

07

A conversation, a tailored walkthrough, a pilot scope. One button.

FAQ

What is a capabilities deck?
A short introduction to your company for people who haven't met you: what you do, who for, proof, and how to start. It travels by forward, so it has to stand alone.
How is it different from a sales deck?
A sales deck is built around one customer's problem after discovery. A capabilities deck comes before discovery, so it introduces you while still pointing at the buyer's world.
How many slides?
Eight. If someone wants the long version, they'll ask for a meeting, which is the goal.
